I just turned 56 and through this community and Spotify discovery lists I’ve found so many new favourite artists. I’ve been spending my Saturday afternoon going through this community’s posts and being generally impressed. I FUCKING LOVE FINDING NEW MUSIC. The worst thing is there’s not enough time in the day to listen to it all.
Amazing. I’m now listening to that whole album.
I like it, but the vocalist need to be more prominent in the mix. She’s getting a bit drowned out.

Love these guys, and that whole album is full of bangers like this. They just released a new album a few weeks ago, and there’s a few full live shows on YouTube that I can’t recommend highly enough. They put on quote a show.

When it comes to good advice, I’m full of it.
I didn’t have a problem with the camping. Only really needed a tent and sleeping bag to crash in after the gig, which I have. I’m not sure my spine could have handled it any more though.
Their only online presence is Facebook, though, which I have since permanently deleted, so I don’t have any way to know about future gigs, which is annoying.
The only album I’ve had of theirs is Road Apples, and I love it. I don’t know why I haven’t listened to more. I should.

I’ve tried a couple of other streaming services, but I keep coming back to Spotify for the Discover Weekly playlist. I’ve found so much news music I love through that.
The equivalent on Tidal and YouTube Music just don’t quite do it for me. Tidal’s changes daily, so I don’t get through it, and didn’t really give me much variety, and YouTube’s changes every time you open the app. Also, one of the first tracks it recommended was Bad Bad Leroy Brown, as if everyone on the planet hasn’t already heard that. :D

Thanks for that. Just out of curiosity, what’s the preferred place to link to with songs on here? YouTube or Spotify or some other site? Happy to go with whatever the group prefers. I like how Spotify links automatically generate a thumbnail, whereas YouTube just creates a generic link.
Also anything I share will usually be because I like the entire album, and Spotify is good for that as well. Any other album enjoyers around here?
The Fumes were playing their first gig in years earlier in the year, but it was in Northern NSW at a local pub and about 250km each way for me. I regret not going to the gig, but I don’t regret not driving that far for it.
The whole album is a cracker. The rest of their work is pretty awesome as well, but that album really stands out for me. Maximilian on guitar is a beast.
Seeing ‘Stress’ by Jim’s Big Ego on there makes me want to listen to all of that, because I’m also a Jim Stephanie Sterling fan. I’ll get to it.
