• Azura Deluxe Resort & Spa 5 (Avsallar, Turkey) is a new modern hotel. It was opened in 2015.

Both might have drawn mutual inspiration from elsewhere, but it would be infinitely funnier if this were a Skyrim statue made physical.

Why does the dress look AI-generated in Skyrim, tho?

E: I’m saying it resembles an AI-generated dress. I’m not saying it’s AI or that it’s bad. Christ, another clarifying edit I have to make for people jumping the gun.

The ACTUAL answer to your question is this: see how the draped gown cascades down directly from her arms? The developers realized that, if it were a real statue, her arms would need supports, so they figured that the original masons would have used the flowing shape of cloth to support her arms, like Cristo Redentor, which has sleeves hanging down to cantilever its arms against its torso.

      It doesn’t.

You need to get off the internet, go to your local library and find some picture books so you can readjust your brain away from AI brainrot.

I’m zooming right into the picture, and that’s what it looks like to me. I don’t know what the 3D model looks like. I’m not saying it’s AI either, it only resembles AI to me.

And no, I don’t spend all day on the computer looking at AI images. Half of my day is spent outside. What do you know about me to be that extra judgy? It’s quite off-putting tbh.

Which means your view on what is AI is completely skewed.

You see AI in things that have nothing to do with AI.

Now imagine how many times this has happened with recently created art that caused you to dismiss it because it “resembles AI” too in your mind.

Stop thinking everything is AI, that is your brainrot.

Omg, sometimes Lemmy is so tiring. Like, damned if I do and damned if I don’t. Damned if I explain what I mean anyway.

I really don’t need your armchair diagnosis or whatever you’re doing. I’m blocking people now, this is ridiculous.

You are right that you don’t need an armchair diagnosis. Although you seriously need to go look at old photographs and what people do with cloth in real life. Because your view on what is real, and what is fake, is not conducive to reality if you think that dress looks “AI” generated.

It’s made of stone and has been weathered by time. Also this image is crunched to hell and back.

Oh, I mean the shape of it. The drapes attach to the sides in the middle, but then drape down along the side of the dress in a continuous shape. And the woman is also bearing her leg, but it’s not a leg because it has the same texture as the dress. Idk, the more I looked at it, the less sense it made.

Unusually shaped fictional clothes in 2011: oh the designers are having fun with this one

Unusually shaped fictional clothes in 2025: this is either slop or derivative of slop, no thanks

It’s just that the well has been poisoned. There are real unedited photos and pieces of art that retrospectively look like they were prompt fondled into existence. Or worse, there are actual things I’ve taken my time to write that have been accused of being generated.

It’s just how it is now.

I’m not saying it isn’t good, I do like the statue. I’m only saying it looks like they took quite a few artistic liberties.

Well, it’s a piece of art in a video game, which itself is a piece of art, so I hope they took some artistic liberties! Since when is that an issue?

I didn’t say it was. I think it’s people assuming that’s what I mean and replying to something I never said, as it’s usual around here.

Yeah. Everything looks like AI now that image generation is capable. Its so tiring. I’m playing a cutesy idle game and the color palate has the similar-but-clashing-color thing that AI does. Its new enough that it could be. Theres so much soul in the game, though. I really don’t think so.

Anyway, I don’t see it in this picture, but I’ve gotten that vibe about pictures older than image generation. Stay strong against AI dissolving reality.

Stay strong against AI dissolving reality.

I’m only comparing it to AI because the shape is weird. I’m saying the artist made some liberal choices. I’m not sure where this other thing comes from that my mind is melting with AI. I think people are reading too much into it and assuming things. I keep trying to explain but only get ignored. 🤷‍♂️
