india is so badly governed that it is sad. once a country of mystery and spices, now a very backwards dirty place. i really have no clue what could make india grow in things like equality. does india at least understand the annex of kashmir was not in the interest of the people that live there but the decision of one ruler only? this is not going to end well for india. but i am sure modi knows best, lol

Wish you a lot of strength and hope you stay safe! It’s understandable that you’re concerned and scared, as this is a dangerous situation. Wish I could say anything else but just want you to know that I hope this will be over soon and cause no more suffering or losses.

From a solely pessimistic point of view, you’re right to be scared. This is a war between two nuclear powers and it can get real ugly in the worst case scenario.

But as long as it’s kept a strategic war focused on border bickerings and damaging each other’s economic ability, civilians should be safe in the most part.

I’d recommend channeling the fear into activism towards peace. If you are willing and able, get together with others and pressure your government with large protests against the war. If not, then stay safe.

It’s strange, or? Where we normal people are trying to get on with our lives, our government decides to wage war with some other country, where normal people are also just trying to get on with their lives.

No one wants war, besides people selling missiles, bombs, tanks, guns, etc

There are far more that want war. Even people that would have nothing to gain but everything to lose from a war.

Send them to the front and let the problem solve itself.

The issue lies with where the sentiment comes from. Most of the time it originates from politicians who, unable to solve local problems, choose to demonize a part of society or another country in order to get away with their failures and the riches/power this enables them to grab.

I don’t think the people who sell or make weapons want/provoke war (especially), it’s always the dictators or autocrats who do it. Always. Always. Always.

The people who make and sell weapons absolutely do want war. Nations at war need to keep replenishing their stockpiles whereas nations at peace burn through much less. You can use a tank many times in drills but when it’s blown up for real, you aren’t reusing it.

The dictators and autocrats also want war, but they have their own reason: war distracts people from issues at home. If they can’t have a real war, they manufacture an internal enemy instead. Sometimes they do both.

So swedish SAAB is actively trying to provoke wars around the world?

          What about BAE systems?

Yeah not really. Or show me proofs of the the reverse.

Or is it the old USA bad + conspiracy theories?

I’m sorry this is happening to you. There’s too much war in the world and not enough leaders that act responsibly. Hope you stay safe, internet stranger-friend.

May I ask where in India you live?

A don’t really have a whole lot of insight or comforting words, but I have to admit that my scandinavian ass is leaning towards “It’s not the first time. Cooler heads tend to prevail”
